Privacy Policy

The short version: Censr does its work entirely on your Mac. Your screen content — everything Censr scans and redacts — is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere off your device. The only data we ever receive is what you hand us directly: your email (if you join the waitlist or contact us) and your purchase/license details (handled by our payment provider).

1. Screen content stays on your device

Censr captures, reads (OCR), and redacts your screen locally, on your Mac, using Apple's on-device frameworks. We do not receive, see, transmit, or store any of your screen content. There is no cloud processing of your screen and no telemetry that reports what's on your display.

2. Information we actually collect

Email address — only if you submit it (waitlist or contact). Used to send launch/update notices and to reply to you. Waitlist submissions are processed by Formspree.
Purchase & license information — when you buy Censr, checkout and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. They process your name, email, payment method, and billing/tax details under their own privacy policy. We receive order and license-key records (e.g., your email and that a valid license exists) so we can support you. We never see or store your full payment-card details.
Feedback you send — only if you use Send Feedback in the app. We receive the message you write, plus basic technical details that help us act on it: the app version and build, your macOS version, your Mac model (for example “Mac17,6”), and your language setting. The email field on that screen is optional and clearly marked — if you fill it in we use it only to reply to you; leave it blank and your feedback is anonymous. No screen content, OCR results, or anything Censr has scanned is ever included. Feedback is stored in a private database that only we can read; it is not sold, shared, or used for advertising. Email us to have a piece of feedback deleted.
License activation — when you activate a license key in the app, Censr sends only the license key (and a generic device label) to the licensing service to confirm it's valid. No screen content is involved. After activation, the app works offline.

3. What we do not do

No accounts or sign-in to use the app.
No analytics or tracking of your screen activity.
No selling, renting, or sharing of your information for advertising.
No server-side logs of what Censr scans, because that never leaves your Mac.

4. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of providers strictly to operate: Lemon Squeezy (payments, license keys, order email), Formspree (waitlist/contact form delivery), Supabase (storing in-app feedback you choose to send), and our website host. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.

5. Data retention & your choices

We keep your email and order records only as long as needed to support you and meet legal/accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your email from our lists, delete feedback you sent, or request a copy of the limited data we hold, by emailing support@getcensr.com. For payment data, Lemon Squeezy is the controller — see their privacy policy.

6. Children

Censr is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, note it on this page.
